DATES IN THE COLLECTIVE AGREEMEMT: (2015-2018 Collective Agreement)


January 1st – Employer’s decision on Renewal of Appointment. For details go to Article 11.1.51 (b).

January 1st – Renewal of probationary appointment. The candidate should be informed by the Employer’s decision no later than January 1st of the final year. For details go Article 11.1.20 (a).

January 1st to June 30th- Sabbatical Leave. For details go to Article 19.3.20.

February 1st – The University will provide the Union with a list of courses and lab section taught. For details go to Article 4.7 (b).

February 1st – Application for sabbatical – 12 months prior to the date of the proposed sabbatical leave. For details go to Article 19.3.20 (c).

February 15th – Department will complete their Promotion & Tenure reviews and communicate their judgment. For details go to Article 11.1.11 (b) & (c).

Commencing April 1, 2015, April 1, 2016, April 1, 2017, the member shall be eligible to receive a maximum of $469, $474, and $479, respectively, for reimbursement of professional development expenses.  For details go to Article 16.7.2.

April 15th & 30th – Election of two Faculty Members to sit on the University Review Committee. Election to take place no later than April 15th and results given no later than April 30th. For details go to Article 11.1.40 (b).

April 15 – Renewal, promotion and tenure – Faculty. Candidates shall inform department chairs…. For details go to Article 11.1.10 (b).

May 1st – Employer’s decision respecting Promotion. For details go to Article 11.1.51 (b).

May 15 – Renewal, promotion and tenure – Faculty. The Department Chair shall provide the Dean with a list of applicants. For details go to Article 11.1.10 (b).

June 1st – Employer’s decision respecting Tenure. For details go to Article 11.1.51 (c).

June 1st – Annual vacations. For details go to Article 15.2.22.

June 1st to September 1st – Vacation period. For details go to Article 15.2.23.

June 15 – Renewal, promotion and tenure – Faculty. The Dean shall finalize the list of assessors to be consulted. For details go to Article 11.1.10 (b).

July 1st – Effective date of appointments under 10.1.10 (b). Date for salary step increments for this appointment. For details go to Article 10.1.40.

September 30th – Probationary Appointments. The Chairperson, after consultation with the Department, will provide written feedback to the Faculty member on the annual report submitted by September 30th. For details go to Article 10.1.12 (b)

October 1st – Application for sabbatical – 12 months prior to the date of the proposed sabbatical leave. For details go to Article 19.3.20 (c).

October 15th – Department review of renewal appointment and communicate judgment. For details go to Article 11.1.11 (a).

October 15th – Annual report of Activities – Faculty Members, for details go to Article 8.4.13 (a).

October 31st – Annual report of Activities – Librarians. For details go to Article 8.4.14 (a).

October 31st – Department allotments of full-time faculty and sabbatical leave replacements for the following academic year shall be established by the University. For details go to Article 10.1.20 (a)

October 31st – Increase in allotments due to enrolment increases. For details go to Article 10.1.23.

October 31st – Promotion & Tenure candidates – External assessors to reply to the Dean by the following October 31st. For details go to Article 11.1.13 (c).

November 30th – Annual Report of Activities – Faculty Members. The Chairperson shall forward two copies of all annual reports to the Dean by November 30th. For details go to Article 8.4.13 (a).
